Daventry's Falconer's Hill Academy welcomes football freestyler
Pupils and staff at Daventry’s Falconer’s Hill Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, were delighted to welcome football freestyler, Dan Magness, to the academy as part of their ‘Get Active Day’.
As part of the ‘Get Active Day’, pupils took part in a number of sports masterclasses, encouraging them to increase their participation in sport and physical activity.
Dan, who currently holds the world record for keeping a football up in the air for a total of 26 hours, ran a number of football skills sessions with pupils, where he gave them valuable advice on how to improve their own skills and discussed the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Dan also wowed the crowds with his incredible freestyling as he put on a number of performances for pupils throughout the day.
Matthew Reetz, Executive Headteacher at Falconer’s Hill Academy, said: “At Falconer’s Hill Academy, we actively encourage all pupils to participate in sport and teach them the benefits of taking part in regular exercise.
“This has been an incredible opportunity for our pupils to work alongside a world record holder, who has inspired our pupils to work hard in order to fulfil their dreams.”
